New Parents: Share Your Voice on Maternal Health Issues in Texas
Parents and families across Texas have a chance right now to share their experiences and help improve health care for moms and babies.
The Texas Sunset Advisory Commission is reviewing how key health programs are working and looking for ways to improve how they serve Texas families. This review includes major health agencies, such as the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Hearing directly from Texans is a critical part of that process.
We recently shared ways to submit general input to Sunset— and today, we’re highlighting another way for families to be heard on key maternal health issues throughout the Sunset Review Process.
Our partner, Texas Impact, is currently offering two surveys to help parents and caregivers to weigh in. The results will be shared with the Sunset Advisory Commission to help inform their review.
Share your experiences with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period:
Take the survey on the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee.
Share the guidance you received around breastfeeding, safe sleep, and postpartum care before leaving the hospital:
Take the survey on the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies.
