Call Congress! Don't Let 2 million Texans Lose Health Insurance!

Congress is rushing to pass a mega-budget bill that will take health care and food away from millions of seniors, children, people with disabilities, caregivers, small business owners, and working class families.

This so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" already passed the House. The Senate is aiming to vote any day now and then send it back to the House for a final vote.

If Congress passes the bill and fails to extend enhanced tax credits for people buying insurance on HealthCare.gov, about two million Texans will lose their health insurance, according to the latest estimates! That includes:

  • 200,000 Texans who lose Medicaid health insurance under the bill;

  • 560,00 Texans who lose insurance through the bill’s restrictions to Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plans available through HealthCare.Gov; and

  • more than 1 million Texans who will lose insurance if Congress fails to extend the enhanced tax credits that lower prices for insurance on HealthCare.Gov.

These cuts jeopardize Texans' ability to get medications, cancer screenings and treatment, check-ups for kids, prenatal care, and other health care.

And the cuts to SNAP nutrition assistance could make it harder for 800,000 Texans to put food on the table, according to expert analysis!

Fortunately, our friends at the American Cancer Society - Cancer Action Network are giving you three easy ways to contact your members of Congress and urge them to vote no on the bill:
