Texas Senate Hearing Addresses Health Insurance

A recent Texas Senate hearing put a spotlight on the state's health insurance needs. Several witnesses, including Cover Texas Now members, urged the Legislature to improve access to comprehensive health insurance, while other witnesses and committee members expressed their skepticism about our concerns. 

Here's some of the testimony that Cover Texas Now members delivered to the committee:

• Testimony from Every Texan addressing the Marketplace, challenges in the private insurance market, the need for Medicaid expansion, and other policy recommendations.

• Testimony from Texans Care for Children about ways the Legislature can ensure eligible children are able to enroll in Medicaid/CHIP health coverage.

• Testimony from Children's Defense Fund - Texas calling for Medicaid expansion, policies to help currently eligible children sign up for Medicaid, and more.
