Austin - Today the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid announced that a record number of people signed up for health insurance for 2024 on HealthCare.gov. A total of 21 million signed up nationwide for 2024, compared to 16 million in 2023, and 3.5 million Texans enrolled, compared to 2.4 million in 2023.

After the announcement, Karla Martinez, Senior Policy Analyst at Every Texan, a member of the Cover Texas Now coalition, issued the following statement:

“It’s wonderful to see that so many Texans are getting the health insurance they need through HealthCare.gov. These numbers show that HealthCare.gov is working well for a whole lot of people across the state of Texas. We’re thrilled to see that the federal investments in health coverage outreach and expanded consumer subsidies are paying off.”
