Virtual rally on March 5 for Texas Medicaid expansion!

Last week, as our state faced a crisis created by a failure of state leadership, Texans rallied together to help their neighbors — opening their homes, delivering water, sharing groceries, donating to community groups, and rising to the occasion in so many other ways.

Next week, we need to rally together once again to help our neighbors through another crisis created by a failure of state leadership — the lack of affordable health care for millions of Texans.

Please join us, #SickOfItTX, NASW-Texas, and Texans from across the state as we rally together — virtually — on Friday, March 5th to call on Texas leaders to say YES to Medicaid expansion.

Advocacy Day Schedule:

8 a.m. Health and Wellbeing of All Texans
Join NASW’s morning rally to learn more about why Medicaid is so crucial for Texans, and why we need expansion.

10 a.m. Twitterstorm with Rep. Donna Howard
We’re going to get loud on social media! Tell your story, share why you support Medicaid expansion, and tag your Representatives.

12 p.m. #MedEx4TX Virtual Rally
Hear from #txlege champions, frontline service providers, business, and faith leaders, and rally together to demand state leaders to expand Medicaid NOW. Emceed by proud social worker and co-host of The Rabble podcast, Ashley Cheng!

1 p.m. Call-a-Thon with Sen. Nathan Johnson
Join us for a virtual phone bank right after the rally to place calls to Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Speaker Phelan.

2 - 4 p.m. Group Legislative Visits
Sign up to speak with key Texas House and Senate offices in virtual visits to let them know why Medicaid expansion is so crucial to you. We also encourage you to schedule your own office visits during this time. ***Note: Group visits require separate registration through the link above.
