Nuns on the Bus - Texas Style

Nuns on the Bus is coming to Austin in support of health care coverage for the working poor.  On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, buses will leave San Antonio, Houston and Fort Worth/Dallas for Austin. Join Sr. Simone Campbell, SSS, Executive Director of NETWORK and activists from around the state for a Day of Advocacy. Participants will visit state legislators and seek support for the expansion of Medicaid as allowed under the Affordable Care Act. The agenda includes:

Gathering, rally and press conference at State Capitol – 8:30 – 10:00am

Visits to our legislators – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Lunch at Texas AFL- CIO – 12:30 pm

There are plans to match constituents with their legislators as much as possible for legislative visits. In order to do so, event organizers are asking for the name of your state representative and state senator.  To find your representative, please check this website. Please include your zip code with four-digit extension for accuracy in finding your representatives. Also, please plan on wearing GREEN (a traditional sign of hope) to the event to show your support.

If coming from Austin, help event organizers by completing and returning this registration form (Word doc) by Tuesday, April 9.

If you're coming from outside Austin, help event organizers by completing and returning this registration form (Word doc) by Monday, April 1.
