Want a Free Health Care Workshop? We Offer Them!

This is an exciting time for health care in Texas. The state has the opportunity to make some great strides in improving the health and wellbeing of children and families. Now, with the dust settling over the federal health reform law since it was held constitutional by the Supreme Court, it is time for Texas to get to work on implementing many of the important aspects of the law that will help improve access to quality care, provide affordable comprehensive coverage for all, and even the playing field for the most vulnerable Texans.

But maybe you're wondering: what are some of these provisions in law?

How will the law affect you personally, your family, or our community?

Our Texas Well and Healthy campaign looks to help you answer just that. We offer free workshops in local communities that provide a high-level overview of what is in the Affordable Care Act, how it affects various groups, and ways to advocate for the improved health and wellbeing of all Texans. The workshop is open to all concerned Texans and will provide next steps to get involved in efforts to improve healthcare in Texas.

If you or someone you know would like to host a workshop in your community, visit our home page and fill out the "Take Action Now" form, letting us know you want to attend an educational workshop.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this post referred to an open workshop in Austin that has since been postponed. When we have new details about that event, we will update this post.
